Calculator "Inverse"
When you invert a calculator readout, you hopefully can make these associations of digits to letters: 0 - O, 1 - I, 2 - Z, 3 - E, 4 - H, 5 - S, 6 - G, 7 - L, and 8 - B...with a creative "tilt" to your vision.

Read each of the following clues, do the associated calculation on your calculator, and then rotate your calculator 180o to find the answer.
- Old Mother ____ when she wanted to wander...
(1232 x 2) + 4748
- Capitol of state famous for its potatoes
(789 x 32) + (340 x 29)
- Big pigs
4 x (342 + 245)
- Slept like a ______
(987 - 683.5) x 2
- Letters with windows in envelopes
52,818 + 702
- Snail's home
2812 - (101 x 16)
- Get down on your knees and ____
(54,321 / 3) - (647 x 27)
- They are found in belfries
(29 x 146) + 12102 - 1,410,596
- Santa drives one
434,343 + (2 x 13,516)
- You woudn't be so sweet, honey, if it weren't for _____
(10 x 529) + (1728 / 36)
These examples may be stretching the word "humor" a little too much...but they are creative and could prompt your students to make up some of their own problems of this type.
