Fermi For Me?
To make the following "guesstimates," determine a systematic process, implement it, and then compare your estimates with your classmates:
- The number of blades of grass on a football field
- The number of times your eyes blink in your lifetime
- The number of leaves that fall from all of the trees annually in the State of Washington
- The number of ice cubes that could be made by cutting up the ice cap at the North Pole
Note: These types of problems are called Fermi Problems.
