The Good Olde Daze
Not really humorous...but rather is a glimpse at the past....
The photo (taken November 24, 1952) features students from Arlington Heights Township High School (IL). The students are in an experimental geometry class and are "working out propositions and theorems with instruments instead of books...while studying angles."
The picture also ran with two other captions:
Note boy yawning in back of class...plus visible presence of only two females in the class.
- "Scarcity of qualified science and mathematics teachers is serious. Classes such as this experimental geometry class...are more fortunate than many in having experienced personnel as teachers."
- "Members of an experimental geometry class work out their propositions and theorems by the aid of large-sized instrucments instead of textbooks."
