A large corporation was looking to hire a new Vice-President of Operations. The three finalists were a mathematician, statistician and business accountant. The hiring committee brought each of the finalists individually into the room and asked them all the same last question: How much is 500 plus 500?
First on the list, the mathematician said "1000" without hesitation.
Next, the statistician replied: "On the average, 1000 with 95% confidence."
Finally, the business accountant responded: "What would you like it to be?"
The corporation hired the accountant.
Note: If you do not like this bit of humor, then go back and read the Math Lint for this week (as it is even more humorous).
