Virtual Gym Class?

Now I have seen or heard of almost everything....as the newsfeed claimed: "Hundreds of teens in the region are enrolled in cyber gym classes."

What does this mean? According to Rich Campsie, one of the on-line teachers, the cyber gym students "study sports and fitness, but are expected to put what they learn into practice." The meaning: students are on an honor system to complete the associated physical activity according to their own time schedule and choice of environment.

Campsie continues: "We can't play dodgeball, we can't play team sports...we talk about how they felt about the assignment...." I SAY: What has our educational world come to!

Let's do the same in math. The students will study mathematics of their choice on-line, and be expected to put what they learn into practice. MEANING: the students are on honor system to complete the associated mathematical activity according to their own time schedule and choice of environment.

We can't do real mathematics, but we can talk about how they felt about the assignment!
