New Math Term
Continuing last week's Jeopardy query, this $2000 item was in the category Half of Things:
A contestant responded "What is bisecting angle" and gained $2000. Then, about five minutes later, host Trebek stopped the show to tell the contestant that after review, the judges said his response was wrong (should have been angle bisector) and he "lost" $4000.
But, I claim he is right! Couldn't angle BAD be a bisecting angle, since it divides angle BAC into two equal parts?
Before you protest too much, I should add that the term actually is used in literature not specific to mathematics (e.g. consider this photo from a veterinary medicine journal):
I rest my case, your Hollywood Honor!
