Try To Top This?

Occasionally, but not often, coincidences occur in my life...or I hear about them. But, I usually am unable to explore them with a mathematical lens.

Nonetheless, consider the following, which I pose as being perhaps the greatest coincidence known!

In Bermuda in 1975, a man riding a moped was killed by a taxi. This accident occurred exactly, to the day, one year after the man's brother had been killed:

  • On the same street location
  • By the same taxi driver
  • With the taxi carrying the same passenger
  • And the man was riding the same moped.
Can you top that? As if a Fermi problem, try to determine the mathematical odds of that happening?
