Consider this notice from Dennis (Norfolk), as found on Craig's List...

Greetings! Do you need to pass the GED Mathematics Test?

Would you like to make this one of your New Year's Resolutions?

If so, I would like to help. Let's do it!

I am a retired secondary school mathematics teacher who taught in the state of Virginia for 21 years (1983 - 2004). Ever since my retirement, I have been discovering the joys of tutoring. After all these years, I have come to the realization that tutoring is the purest form of teaching.

....Sessions can be scheduled at your home or at any public library of your choice.

Interesting ad on Craig's List. I wonder if any one made such a resolution? And, I wonder if any one took Dennis up on his generous offer? Finally, I wonder why one has to retire from teaching to reach the "purest form of teaching"?
