Read All About It.....Math Cures Hiccups!!

Gracie Stukenholtz-Prescot, a 14-year-old student at Kimberly High School (ID), had the hiccups for 6 1/2 hours straight. Everyone was there with advice....In Gracie's words: "Many people gave me fool-proof remedies, but nothing seemed to work. I tried holding my breath, the sugar remedy--and even soapy water until I was hiccuping up bubbles."

What remedy finally worked? Again, in Gracie's words: "At about 11:30 p.m., I decided to finish up a little algebra homework, since I couldn't sleep, and guess what? They left just as they came."

And the conclusion of the newspaper article: Math cures hiccups!

So keep this yet one more unusual research result...You never know when it might come in handy. But then, more research is needed....would geometry homework work have the same effect on hiccups as algebra homework?
