Luna Legs It

Luna walked 4 miles north, then 2 miles east, 1 mile south, 1/2 mile west, 1/4 mile north, etc.

Though a dog, Luna continues this pattern indefinitely (she loves infinity and is magically able to walk small distances).

How far from her starting point will she end up?

Hint: Draw a picture...examine a few cases.

Solution Commentary: Rather than focus on the distance, can you predict where Luna will end up...as if you know that point, you could use the distance function (e.g. Pythagorean Theorem).
