Do You Agree With This Suggestion?

Pupil errors in the topic of ratios and proportions are due largely to a vague comprehension of the meaning of ratio.... The pupil should be led to see that in dealing with ratios, he may think of them as fractions.

In this same text, the authors made this claim, which seems to counter their previous claim: "Many pupils go through a course in geometry using the word "ratio" over and over without knowing its full meaning. For example, we find them cancelling the B in (AB)/(BC)... (p. 95)
