Flatland: The Movie......is Here!

Some of you may remember reading Flatland: A Romance in Many Dimensions, a neat story written and illustrated by Edwin Abbott (1884). And, few of you may remember watching or showing Flatland: A Romance in Many Dimensions, a classic animated film by Eric Martin (1965) and narrated by Dudley Moore.

Though both book and on-line versions of Flatland: A Romance in Many Dimensions are still available, the film version unfortunately disappeared as a 16 mm relic....then mysteriously re-appeared as a video on a DVD.

Now, Flatland: The Movie has been released as a full-feature animated film, the creation of independent filmmaker Ladd P. Ehlinger--director, animator, and editor. The voices for the characters are film greats such as Martin Sheen, Kristen Bell, Tony Hale and Michael York.

You can buy Flatland: The Movie only at its special web site ....be aware of the differentiation (use and price) between the home/personal copy and the educator's copy. The prices are quite different!

Nonetheless, get a copy...watch it, show it, discuss it...and show the trailers (e.g. a discussion by the narrators about the importance of learning mathematics or an overview of the 4th-dimension).
