Just the Facts, Spam

Fact 1: Of all e-mail messages received, 58% are categorized as spam.

Fact 2: In one week, the average adult Internet user receives 155 unsolicited messages (e.g. spam) weekly.

Fact 3: 7% of the adult population (i.e. computer users) claim they receive no spam in their e-mail accounts.

Investigation: These three pieces of data are for the year 2003. Conduct an experiment to determine if these numbers remain true today. Would you expect them to be higher or lower? What are some factors that can taint this data?
