The Internet version of Spam is on the increase...no surprises there. But its high growth rate is surprising!
In 2001, 5% of the traffic on the Internet was attributed to spam.
In 2004, 70% of the traffic on the Internet was attributed to spam.
In 2007, the amount of "spam" traffic on the Internet exceeded 90%....the equivalent of more than 100 billion spam messages traversing the network each day!
Question: What percentage would you expect for the year 2010? How close is your prediction?
