Average Data, Mean Data, Everywhere...
So much data exists...That is, we are surrounded by data...and where there is data, opportunities exist for creating mathematical problems.
Consider these pieces of interesting "average" data:
 The cost of raising a mediumsize dog to the age of eleven: $16,400.
 The average number of people airborne over the U.S. in any given hour: 61,000 .
 Half of all Americans live within 50 miles of their birthplace.
Using these interesting gems of data, your task is to first try to figure out how the statistics were gathered, and then try to set up an experiment to check the veracity of the claim.
