Public Television as a Partner in the Classroom

Teacher's Domain provides online access to 1,000+ free media resources provided by public television media such as NOVA, Frontline, Design Squad, and American Experience. All of the lessons are correlated with state and national standards.

As to the specific K-12 resources available, Teachers’ Domain provides:

  • video and audio segments
  • interactive Flash segments
  • visual images
  • documents such as background essays and discussion questions
  • teacher-oriented lesson plans aimed at using technology to provide engaging student-oriented activities
  • Specific to mathematics, Teachers’ Domain provides content in these areas:
  • Numbers and Operations
  • Algebra
  • Geometry
  • Measurement
  • Data Analysis and Probability
  • You will need to register, with your zip code determining which of the three "versions" you can access. This is not a big deal, as it allows you to "personalize" your use of the site via the use of “My Folders” and “My Groups” to download and share the media resources.

Please recommend this website to your non-mathematics colleagues, as Teacher's Domain also, includes lessons and resources in the areas of the Arts, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies.
