Time for a math-rap video, that will probably raise a smile or two...along with a frown or two. Anyone know of an interesting math-rap video that is done by females...or...?
This month's video was sponsored by the website wykamath.com, which advertises itself as an "online resource for both aspiring mathematicians and students trying to get through calculus for the first (or nth) time...(it) provides freely accessible notes, practice problems with answers, and helpful links to make your math experience a more manageable one."
Originally high school students at the same school, Ethan Gilbert (Cornell University student) and Aaron Flack (Williams College student) wrote and produced the video What You Know About Math. Subsequently, they produced a sequel What you Know About Math? Part 2 .
It is staggering to note that the first video has been viewed more than 3 million times! And as one viewer commented: "I guess they should stick to doing math, because clearly they don't know all about music... :-)."
Again, as part of the web resources for this next year, I am trying to suggest an on-line video(s) each month. Thus, if you have a favorite video (e.g. YouTube, TeacherTube, whatever....), please send the link to me (with your comments?) and I will try to include it and share it with others.
