Mr. Bean and the Calculus Exam

After a class discussion, one of my students (W.H.) forwarded me an applicable video. The main character is Mr. Bean, an English comedian who currently appears in James-Bondish spy farces.

As background, Mr. Bean was a British comedy on TV involving 14 half-hour episodes. Rowan Atkinson was both the star and author of many episodes. The series follows Mr. Bean, described as "a child in a grown man's body," as he tries to solve various everyday problems that lead to considerable disruptions. Be forewarned that Mr. Bean rarely speaks, with the physical humour surfacing from his interactions with other people and things.

With this background, view the YouTube offering called the Exam. It is enjoyable....and might lead to your exploration of other Mr. Bean episodes.

Also, while watching the video you might be able to conjecture the nature of the class discussion which led to my student suggesting this video. It was an appropriate response!

As part of the weblinks and resources suggested this year, I am planning on including an on-line video(s) each month. Thus, if you have a favorite video (e.g. YouTube, TeacherTube, whatever....), please send the link to me (with your comments?) and I will try to include it and share it with others.
